The ADE is a member of the National Humanities Alliance and National Coalition for History, and works with the Organization of American Historians, the American Historical Association and the Modern Language Association, among others, to forward the needs of the profession.
The ADE participates in the annual Humanities Advocacy Day in Washington, working to ensure that funding is secured for the National Historical Publications and Records Commission and the National Endowment for the Humanities. The most recent report of the ADE's Federal Policy Committee offers the most detailed account of the ADE's advocacy work.
