Boyd Award Committee
Notice
Members of the ADE are encouraged to submit nominations for the Julian
P. Boyd Award, the Association's highest award which recognizes a
lifetime of distinguished scholarship. The Boyd committee has begun
receiving nominations and will continue to do so until August 1. You
can view the list of past recipients at:

Please send your nominations as email attachments to the committee
members whose email addresses are listed below. The attachment should
be formatted as a Microsoft Word "doc" file or a PDF. Do not send
"docx" files, the new Microsoft Word format which is not backward
compatible.

Purpose
The committee is responsible for selecting the recipient of the Julian P. Boyd Award, which is the highest honor given by the Association for Documentary Editing. Established in 1980 through the contribution of an anonymous donor, this award commemorates Boyd's commitment to excellence and the breadth of his scholarly interests. First presented in 1981, the Boyd Award is now given every three years to a senior scholar in recognition of distinguished contributions to the study of American history and culture.
