ADE Workshop at NeMLA 2018 in Pittsburgh

Yesterday, on Friday, April 13th, faculty, graduate students, and other educators joined ADE Education Director Nikolaus Wasmoen for a free workshop titled “Documenting Culture through Digital Pedagogy: Primary Sources in the Classroom” at the Northeast Modern Language Association Conference, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Through a mix of discussion and hands-on digital editing practice, participants explored some of the strategies and tools they might use to integrate documentary analysis and editing into a range of courses.

As part of the educational outreach programs of the ADE, the event was supported by the National Historical Publications and Records Commission. If you would be interested in hosting or co-sponsoring an ADE Education event at your institution or in conjunction with an academic conference or other event, please contact the Education Director, Nikolaus Wasmoen, at nlwasmoe[at]buffalo[dot]edu.

We would also like to thank the NeMLA conference organizers, especially Derek McGrath who helped develop the idea for the event, and the staff of the Heinz History Center who hosted the workshop in their lovely facility in downtown Pittsburgh.
