NC Office of Archives & History is hiring a Colonial Records Editor and a Civil War Roster Editor

The Historical Research Office of the North Carolina Office of Archives & History seeks to hire an editor for the Colonial Records Project and an editor for the NC Civil War Roster Project. Both are full-time permanent positions with benefits. The positions are located at the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources building in downtown Raleigh, NC. The Colonial Records Editor is a full-time permanent position in the Office of Archives and History that builds on the fifty-plus years of work by the North Carolina Colonial Records Project, principally the twelve volumes of the Second Series of The Colonial Records of North Carolina.

This is a full-time permanent position that serves as editor of the Civil War Roster, an inventory of the state’s Confederate and Union troops which first went to press in 1966 and is currently in its twenty-first volume. Forthcoming volumes will primarily address Federal troops, irregular units, and addenda to prior volumes.
